Did you know that only 28 % of young voters aged 18-24 went to the polls during the last election to the European Parliament? Since 1979 absence of young voters is increasing in elections all over Europe (including on the national level), but nowhere is the turnout so low as in the elections to the European parliament.
Have young people lost faith in the meaning of elections alltogether? Would introducing a quota to promote young MEPs be a helpful instrument? What can young people do to change the image of the European Parliament as a faceless institution?
